Rope Access RT Assistant - Temporary Project - Texas City, TX

MISTRAS Group is currently seeking dedicated Rope Access Technicians with a 40 Hour Radiation Safety Certification for a temporary project based in Texas City, TX. This exciting opportunity offers work on a 4x10 schedule over approximately 5 to 6 weeks starting in September 2026. Rope Access Technicians play a crucial role within MISTRAS teams by safely performing inspections and maintenance tasks at heights and in hard-to-reach locations using certified rope access techniques. Ideal candidates may already hold certification as Level I or II Rope Access Technicians through recognized organizations such as SPRAT or IRATA, or be interested in obtaining these certifications through company training.

This position demands individuals who value safety, integrity, technical competence, and customer service. Rope Access Technicians are expected to operate effectively as part of a team, serving as positive role models and supporting each other to excel in their job assignments. Responsibilities include conducting daily safety meetings, adhering to comprehensive safety and operational protocols, managing pre-planned rescue procedures, documenting field activities thoroughly, and maintaining clear communication with project managers and team leaders.

In addition to performing rope access duties, technicians are tasked with upholding the company’s high standards for safety, health, and risk management by ensuring compliance with all site permit requirements, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and safe work plans. They are expected to demonstrate leadership by providing feedback, reinforcing positive behaviors, managing performance, and helping maintain team morale. As part of ongoing professional development, Rope Access Technicians also receive additional training in advanced rescue techniques and company policies.
