This role is based in Tampa, Florida, at the 505 Water St location, and presents a full-time, non-management opportunity in the engineering and facilities category. The role focuses on the preventative maintenance and upkeep of guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas, ensuring all aspects of the environment contribute to a superior guest experience. Duties involve comprehensive care and maintenance including mattress flipping and inspection, bed frame assembly, thorough vacuuming behind and beneath furniture, carpet and upholstery stain removal, detailed dusting, paint touch-ups, furniture refinishing, appliance inspections, lighting replacements, and grout and caulking evaluations.
The maintenance professional will perform minor repairs such as adjusting loose toilet seats, replacing light bulbs, patching wall holes, and deep cleaning of bathrooms, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors in guest rooms. Reporting serious maintenance or safety issues promptly to management is a key responsibility, alongside adherence to company safety protocols through required training and certifications. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, keep proprietary company information confidential, and ensure the protection of company assets.
The role demands physical activity, including standing, sitting, bending, twisting, lifting, and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, and assisting with heavier items when necessary. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Less than 1 year of related work experience
- No supervisory experience required
- No licenses or certifications required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, and prolonged standing
- Ability to follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to adhere to uniform and appearance standards
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect company property.

Job Duties
- Perform planned preventative maintenance in guest rooms including mattress flipping and inspection, assemble bed frames, vacuum behind and under furniture, remove stains from carpets and upholstery, dust surfaces, touch up paint, refinish furniture, ensure all appliances and fixtures are functional and present, replace lighting fixtures, inspect grouting and caulking
- Maintain, repair, and clean all guest rooms following established preventive maintenance procedures and standards
- Carry out minor miscellaneous repairs such as adjusting loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and filling wall holes
- Conduct thorough cleaning of all surfaces in guest rooms including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors
- Immediately report serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards to the manager or supervisor
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications
- Adhere to company policies regarding uniform and personal appearance, confidentiality, and protection of company property
- Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and anticipate guest service needs
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with teammates and support team goals
- Perform physical activities such as reaching above the head and below the knees, bending, twisting the waist, dragging, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier objects
- Execute other reasonable job duties as assigned.
