This full-time, non-management role at JW Marriott Bloomington, Minnesota, offers an hourly pay range of $23.68 to $25.12 and focuses on preventive maintenance and housekeeping to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of guests. The role involves routine upkeep of guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas, with responsibilities that include mattress and bed frame inspections, vacuuming beneath furniture, removing carpet and upholstery stains, dusting, painting touch-ups, furniture refinishing, and making sure all fixtures and appliances in guest rooms are present and fully functional. Additional duties include replacing lighting fixtures, inspecting tile grout and caulking, conducting minor repairs such as fixing loose toilet seats, changing bulbs, and patching wall holes. The position demands general cleaning of guest room surfaces including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors. Prompt communication of significant maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors is essential.

Adherence to corporate safety policies and procedures is critical, requiring staff to report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions while participating in training and certification programs. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance, uphold confidentiality of proprietary company information, and protect company assets. Job Duties

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces including mattress and box spring turning and inspection, vacuuming behind and under furniture, removing carpet and upholstery stains, dusting, painting touch-ups, furniture refinishing, inspecting and replacing lighting fixtures, and sealing grout and caulk
  • maintain, repair, and clean all guest rooms following general preventive maintenance procedures
  • carry out minor miscellaneous repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and filling wall holes
  • conduct general cleaning of guest room surfaces including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors
  • promptly communicate serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards to supervisors
  • comply with all company safety policies and procedures including reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, completing safety training and certifications
  • maintain a neat and professional appearance, uphold confidentiality, and protect company assets
  • greet and assist guests following company standards, anticipating and meeting guest service needs
  • collaborate positively with team members to achieve common goals and adhere to quality standards
  • perform physical tasks including reaching above head and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds alone and heavier items with assistance
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts
  • perform other reasonable job duties as assigned
