Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. With a diverse portfolio of brands including W Hotels, Marriott International strives to deliver exceptional guest experiences through luxury, comfort, and outstanding service. The company is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive work environment where diversity is celebrated and associates can thrive both personally and professionally. Marriott International operates numerous hotels and resorts worldwide, offering unique opportunities for career growth across various segments of the hospitality industry. This position is based at the W Hotels property located at 7277 E Camelback Rd, Scottsdale, Arizona. It is a full-time, non-management role, providing a dynamic and supportive workplace environment where employees are encouraged to bring their best selves to work every day.
The role focuses on performing planned preventive maintenance in guest rooms (CARE, RPM, GCPM), meeting rooms, and public spaces as needed. This includes turning and inspecting mattresses and box springs, assembling bed frames, vacuuming behind and underneath furniture, removing stains from carpets and upholstery, dusting, touching up paint and furniture, ensuring all fixtures and appliances are present and operating properly, replacing lighting fixtures, and inspecting grout and caulking. The maintenance associate will also be responsible for minor miscellaneous repairs like adjusting loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and filling wall holes. Ensuring thorough cleaning of all surfaces in guest rooms including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors is an integral part of the position.
Safety and adherence to company policies are paramount in this role. The associate must immediately report serious maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards to management. A strong commitment to company safety policies, including accident, injury, and unsafe condition reporting, is expected, along with participation in safety training and certification. The role demands professionalism in uniform and appearance, confidentiality in dealing with company information, and protection of company property.
As a vital part of guest experience, this role requires recognizing and greeting all guests according to company standards and anticipating their service needs. Teamwork and positive work relationships are encouraged to achieve common goals, maintaining high standards and quality expectations throughout the job performance. The physical nature of the job involves bending, twisting, pushing, lifting, and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, and assisting with heavier objects. The associate should be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during their shift.
W Hotels is a brand that inspires curiosity and expands horizons, offering a unique and vibrant work culture. The "Whatever/Whenever" service philosophy ensures that associates provide passionate and personalized service at every turn. Joining W Hotels means becoming part of a global team under Marriott International, where your best work can thrive and where you can achieve personal purpose and professional growth. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a meaningful and hands-on role in hospitality maintenance with an established industry leader.
