The hotel is known for its lush gardens, exquisite dining venues, and impeccable service standards, making it a favored destination for travelers seeking the highest levels of comfort, privacy, and bespoke service. Employees at Hotel Bel-Air are not only representatives of a landmark hospitality establishment but also ambassadors of a legacy deeply rooted in excellence and a commitment to creating unforgettable memories for every guest.
The role of Rooms Manager in Training within the Guest Relations division at Hotel Bel-Air is a distinguished opportunity designed for emerging leaders who aspire to shape the future of hospitality management. This fixed-term, full-time position spans 12 months and is part of the Ultimate Leader Program, a comprehensive training initiative that grooms future leaders to uphold and elevate the hotel’s world-class service standards. With an hourly compensation of $28.96, this role provides a competitive salary alongside an attractive benefits package that includes medical benefits, a pension or 401k plan, sick time, and free meals on duty. Further exclusive perks include complimentary stays with breakfast at all Dorchester Collection hotels annually and a 50% discount at hotel bars and restaurants, providing a unique lifestyle blend of work and luxury.
As a Rooms Manager in Training, you will be entrusted with critical operational responsibilities and leadership duties that directly impact guest satisfaction and departmental efficiency. The position requires a high level of energy, creativity, and consistency to navigate the dynamic nature of hotel operations. You will gain hands-on experience with departmental structure, role management, and operational standards, including schedule creation, payroll reporting, and forecasting. This role demands an acute attention to detail especially in managing special guest requests ranging from dietary needs to room preferences and event celebrations.
Communication and coordination across multiple departments stand as a cornerstone of this role, ensuring seamless alignment with the hotel’s vision and values. The Manager in Training will also be responsible for maintaining the luxury standards by identifying and addressing any imperfections within the hotel. This dynamic role not only tests your ability to work independently but also challenges you to foster teamwork and leadership in a fast-paced, demanding hospitality setting. Physical requirements include the ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, lift or move up to 50 pounds, and perform manual dexterity tasks, which reflects the active nature of the position.
Hotel Bel-Air’s Managers in Training must be adaptable to varying work schedules, including weekends and holidays, which aligns with the 24/7 operational demands of luxury hospitality. This role requires fluency in English for effective communication, authorization to work full time in the United States, and personal arrangements for housing and transportation. Candidates should bring a passion for hospitality, embody the hotel’s vision and culture, and be proficient with computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. A completed degree in hospitality, human resources, sales and marketing, food and beverage, or business administration within two years of the program start is essential, alongside being at least 21 years of age. This comprehensive training position represents a gateway to a rewarding career in luxury hotel management, offering an unmatched learning experience in a globally recognized hotel environment.
