Job Requirements
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly
- Must effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests
- Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
- Approach all encounters with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy and service orientation
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
- Maximize efforts towards productivity and identify problem areas
- Must be effective in handling, anticipating and solving problems
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Job Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- Or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
- Or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
Job Duties
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and employees at all times
- Respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner
- Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Rooms Division personnel according to Highgate Hotel SOPs
- Assist in preparing and conducting Rooms Division interviews and support hiring procedures
- Develop employee morale and ensure training of Rooms Division personnel
- Maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees and other departments
- Ensure implementation of all Highgate Hotel policies and house rules
