Job Requirements

  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly
  • Must effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests
  • Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
  • Approach all encounters with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy and service orientation
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity and identify problem areas
  • Must be effective in handling, anticipating and solving problems
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • Or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and employees at all times
  • Respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Rooms Division personnel according to Highgate Hotel SOPs
  • Assist in preparing and conducting Rooms Division interviews and support hiring procedures
  • Develop employee morale and ensure training of Rooms Division personnel
  • Maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees and other departments
  • Ensure implementation of all Highgate Hotel policies and house rules
