This particular role is a Housekeeping Supervisor position within JW Marriott, a key position in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that guests expect from Marriott’s luxury brand. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of guest rooms and public areas. This role includes conducting inspections post-cleaning, ensuring that all assigned areas meet prescribed standards and checklists. The supervisor works closely with housekeeping staff to enter room status updates and complete paperwork, and they are pivotal in managing room assignments and cleaning schedules efficiently.
Beyond routine oversight, the Housekeeping Supervisor plays a critical leadership role by assisting management in tasks such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and coaching employees. This supervisory aspect aims to motivate the team while modeling professionalism and adherence to company policies regarding safety, security, and operational procedures. The supervisor also responds promptly to guest requests and collaborates with other departments, demonstrating Marriott’s commitment to outstanding guest service.
The role requires physical capability to perform various housekeeping duties including moving objects up to 55 pounds without assistance and heavier items with help, reaching and bending frequently, and standing or walking over extended periods. Using computers and point of sale systems to enter and manage information accurately is also essential. The supervisor must display excellent communication skills, speaking clearly and professionally to guests and colleagues alike and maintaining confidentiality of proprietary company information.
Marriott implements careful safety protocols that the Housekeeping Supervisor must strictly follow, including proper storage of flammable materials, reporting any maintenance or safety hazards, and completing necessary safety training. - Enter status of rooms cleaned
- Complete checklists to report cleanliness and condition of each assigned area

- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees
