Job Description

Marriott International, a renowned global hospitality leader, is seeking dedicated professionals to join their esteemed team at The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts located at 465 S La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, California. Marriott International boasts over 100 years of expertise in the hospitality industry, originating with the prestigious Italian brand CIGA in 1906, known for its iconic and historic European hotels. Today, with over 120 hotels across more than 35 countries, The Luxury Collection continues this legacy by offering authentic and memorable experiences that celebrate the unique cultural heritage and charm of each destination. This collection ranges from legendary palaces and secluded retreats to timeless modern classics, each property representing a distinctive reflection of its locale. Marriott International is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment that values diversity and offers equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates. They are dedicated to providing a welcoming space where employees can thrive and grow both personally and professionally. The company embraces a culture where varied backgrounds, talents, and experiences come together to create an enriching and dynamic workplace experience. Marriott also upholds stringent policies to ensure the privacy and security of guests and colleagues while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality throughout the organization.

The Luxury Collection is currently hiring a full-time, non-management Reservations Agent responsible for processing room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations received via telephone, fax, or email. This role is integral to delivering personalized service that anticipates and meets guest needs by recommending suitable room types based on availability and occupancy. The Reservations Agent must verify room types and rates, explain guarantee policies, special rates, and cancellations to callers, and document special requests with precision. They are also tasked with answering inquiries about the hotel's amenities and accommodations. Using effective sales techniques to maximize revenue is a key aspect of the position, as agents enter and access reservation data through the company’s system accurately, including special reservation types like courtesy rooms, employee discounts, inspection rates for travel agencies, and wholesale bookings. In addition, the agent follows escalation procedures to address guest concerns, complies with company policies and standards, and ensures professional appearance and conduct at all times. The role requires clear and professional communication, proper telephone protocol adherence, and active participation in fostering a positive, collaborative team environment. Candidates should be prepared to assist guests with disabilities, uphold quality assurance standards, and perform physical tasks involving the movement of light objects up to 10 pounds. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $35.50 per hour and is located on-site in Los Angeles without remote work options. This job presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their careers within a prestigious and globally recognized luxury hotel brand where they can deliver exceptional hospitality experiences and grow within a supportive and diverse workplace.
