Job Description
Marriott International is a globally renowned hospitality company, known for its extensive portfolio of hotels and resorts that offer luxurious and memorable experiences to guests worldwide. Among its prestigious brands is JW Marriott, which epitomizes luxury and exceptional service in prime locations across major cities and exclusive resort destinations. JW Marriott Hotels are celebrated not only for their lavish accommodations and exquisite amenities but also for fostering an inclusive and empowering work environment. At JW Marriott, the mantra is that happy employees lead to satisfied guests, and this philosophy underscores their commitment to providing outstanding hospitality.
Marriott International embraces diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity, ensuring every employee feels welcomed and valued. Their commitment includes accommodating people with disabilities, veterans, and upholding non-discriminatory policies across all aspects of employment. JW Marriott goes beyond typical hospitality to deliver The JW Treatment™, a culture focused on holistic well-being, career development, recognition, and a supportive community of diverse colleagues.
This particular full-time, non-management position is located at 6580 Fannin St, Houston, Texas, within the Rooms & Guest Services Operations category. The role centers on managing room assignments according to guest preferences and requests, conducting pre-arrival registrations, preparing key packages, and coordinating group arrivals. The job involves constant communication with guests and other hotel departments to ensure seamless check-in and check-out processes, billing accuracy, and maintaining up-to-date records. It requires organizing and processing all guest arrivals and departures, handling reservations and cancellations, and ensuring the proper functioning of room key activations.
Employees in this role also play an essential part in maintaining high customer service standards, addressing guest requests or issues promptly, and documenting all necessary paperwork accurately. The position demands professional appearance, adherence to company policies, confidentiality, and collaboration with other departments to uphold safety, quality, and operational standards. Physical tasks such as standing or walking for extended periods, lifting objects up to ten pounds, and effective use of point-of-sale systems are part of daily duties. The role requires the ability to speak clearly and professionally, handle telephone protocols, and foster positive work relationships to support team goals.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking to grow within the hospitality industry, even those with less than one year of related experience and no supervisory background. While a high school diploma or equivalent is not mandatory, basic education and communication skills are essential. JW Marriott provides a nurturing environment where employees can advance their skills, engage with a global hospitality leader, and achieve their professional potential while contributing to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
