As a Rooms Controller within the Front Office Department at Augusta Marriott, you will play an integral role in ensuring smooth operations and superior service delivery from the moment guests arrive. This hourly non-exempt position, paying $17 per hour, reports to the Front Office Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager. The primary responsibility is to act as the room arrival expert, overseeing the accuracy and quality of guest check-ins by managing room assignments according to guest preferences and special requests. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, effective communication with the front office staff, and the ability to anticipate and meet pre-arrival needs to facilitate a seamless guest experience.
You will be responsible for creating daily reports, managing virtual concierge requests, and supporting sales efforts by preparing show room lists. Your duties also encompass managing third-party reservations and ensuring that all group reservations are accurately reflected in the property management system. In addition, you will assist with front desk operations during breaks, handle guest billing issues professionally, and respond to guest complaints in accordance with property standards. Success in this role is measured by guest satisfaction scores, especially during the arrival process, and your ability to maintain the highest level of service quality.

Job Requirements
- Knowledge of English and local language
- Ability to communicate with guests and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to handle conflict situations in a professional manner
- Be well groomed and adhere to the hotel's dress code
- Knowledge of all areas of the hotel, experience in the rooms division
- Knowledge of basic accounting functions
- Strong computer skills
- Must be able to work any day including weekends and holidays
- Ability to verbally and digitally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
- Ability to visually check work, work area, and hotel space
- Minimum lifting of 30 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hotel front office or rooms division preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in computer operations including property management systems
- Knowledge of basic accounting functions
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
- Familiarity with Marriott standards and procedures
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Create Green sheet for housekeeping and engineering daily according to Marriott standards and Rooms Control checklist
- Ensure that all room types for each day's arrivals are correct
- Block Platinum, Gold, VIP, special needs and connecting rooms to guest specifications
- Handle virtual concierge requests timely and efficiently, communicating to all necessary departments to ensure compliance
- Prepare a list of show rooms for sales team to support their sales efforts
- Process GNS reservations promptly and accurately
- Ensure all group resume information is correct in PMS
- Build ZZ accounts for third party reservations
- Follow up on green sheet status and update in PMS
- Make sure all certificates are attached to redemption accounts
- Cover breaks for AYS and Front Desk to assist team with a smooth operation and needed breaks for optimal staff performance
- Handle guest billing issues in a professional manner ensuring guest satisfaction, professional communication within 48 hours of receipt
- Handle guest experience supervisor complaints according to property standards
