Job Requirements

  • Carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • move about the kitchen and hotel premises efficiently
  • handle food, products, and utensils safely
  • bend, stoop, and kneel as needed
  • utilize communication skills frequently when interacting with guests, cooks, and supervisors
  • maintain alcohol awareness certification or valid health/food handler card
  • demonstrate basic reading, writing, and math abilities
  • be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Deliver room service food and beverage orders to guest rooms
  • replenish and count minibar inventory
  • assist in the maintenance of the room service area and equipment
  • complete guest payment transactions and document guest orders
  • answer room service phones and record orders using up-selling techniques
  • coordinate with other departments for VIP amenity deliveries
  • alert management of service or safety issues and perform service recovery
  • describe menu items and accommodate special food requests
  • prepare and set up room service trays
  • restock minibar and handle hot sos requests
  • perform side-work such as stocking service stations, making coffee, and preparing flatware roll-ups
  • prep amenities including cutting cheese and bread
  • polish glassware
  • refill coffee and iced tea throughout the day
  • use tablets to track minibar inventory
  • retrieve trays from guest rooms and hallways in a timely manner
  • assist with other duties as assigned
