The role of Room Service Host PD is a per diem position located in Laguna Hills within the Kitchen department. This position carries a pay rate of $23.00 per hour and focuses on providing exceptional patient meal experiences. The Room Service Host is responsible for delivering meals to patients promptly at their bedside, coordinating the preparation and delivery of meal trays, and ensuring nutritional accuracy according to patient diet orders. This role requires close communication with Nursing staff and the Diet Office to uphold patient dietary needs and preferences. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, especially in ensuring meal trays correspond correctly to the patient's meal selections and dietary restrictions. The position also involves restocking nourishment areas to meet patient demands efficiently.
In addition to meal delivery, the Room Service Host ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations by properly identifying patients before delivery. The role emphasizes effective communication, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to manage multitasking and prioritization effectively during daily activities. The individual in this role is expected to follow company policies, engage in teamwork positively, and assume responsibility for maintaining high-quality standards during slower periods or downtime. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Recent experience in food service or customer service roles preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work per diem shifts
- Ability to restock and organize supplies
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Basic computer skills
Job Qualifications
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills necessary
- Recent experience in an acute care hospital food service or experience in a restaurant environment preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic knowledge of therapeutic nutrition, medical terminology, and abbreviations preferred
- Computer literacy preferred
Job Duties
- Oversee smooth and accurate tray delivery to all patients at meal times and nourishment distribution, coordinating with Nursing per standard work procedures
- Follow appropriate HIPAA procedures including properly identifying patients when delivering meal trays to the patient bedside
- Assemble patient meal trays according to patient diet order and restrictions
- Restock nourishment rooms to par levels to meet patient needs
- Accurate record keeping for productivity and quality standards
- Perform timely and accurate telephone communication
- Perform downtime procedures as needed
- Ability to be at work and be on time
- Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives
- Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
