The Food Service Partner role at Community Health Network’s Community Hospital East is a part-time position with variable shifts available, ranging from as early as 6 AM to as late as 9 PM. The individual selected for this role will work in the Dietary department at 1500 North Ritter Avenue, Indianapolis. This role is integral to providing patients with nutritious meal options by preparing and assembling patient food trays in accordance with menu selections. The Food Service Partner will also be responsible for transporting trays to various hospital areas, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained. In addition to these duties, maintaining cleanliness and sanitization standards within kitchen, retail, and dining areas is crucial, as is assisting with stock management including receiving, verifying, and delivering supplies safely and efficiently. This role may also involve handling cash transactions at retail food service points while maintaining the cleanliness of cafe or dining areas.

Ideal candidates for this role will possess strong interpersonal skills enabling them to interact effectively with hospital staff, supervisors, peers, and patients alike. A focus on customer service excellence is essential, along with the ability to uphold high standards of personal presentation and perform work duties safely and accurately. Attention to detail is necessary for managing portion control and simple financial tasks such as cash handling. Past experience in food service and certifications such as ServSafe are preferred but not mandatory. Overall, the Food Service Partner contributes meaningfully to the patient experience by ensuring timely, hygienic delivery of meals and maintaining the highest standards of sanitation as set by the State Board of Health.
