Job Requirements

High school education or equivalent preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Ability to read write and speak English required
Ability to perform multiple tasks under time constraints and constant interruption required
Basic knowledge of unit weights and measures and basic mathematical functions required
Ability to lift 30 pounds and push 300 pounds required
Ability to stand for up to four consecutive hours required
Ability to perform repetitive motions such as wrist turning grasping reaching and bending required

Job Qualifications

High school education or equivalent preferred

Basic knowledge of unit weights measures and basic math functions required
Prior experience in patient care capacity strongly preferred
Ability to operate food service equipment and computerized menu planning systems preferred

Job Duties

Delivers patient trays as assigned including regularly scheduled meals snacks floor supplies and NOW trays
Assists patients with proper positioning of food trays reviews menu selections and opens items as necessary
Loads and pushes hot and cold food trucks to and from patient units transports equipment operates cart lifts dumbwaiters and elevators
Completes menu rounds process with patients records menu choices adjusts menus for modified diets and informs patients of appropriate food alternatives
Retrieves patient trays returns them to the main kitchen cleans and restocks carts
Utilizes computerized menu planning system verifies diet order lists with unit charge nurse or designee
Serves as liaison between patients nursing unit dietitians food service staff and management communicating special requests issues and concerns
