Job Description
Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade, located in a landmark building constructed in 1890, offers guests a unique historic hotel experience with convenient access to downtown Cleveland. The hotel features 293 rooms and 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space, attracting a diverse range of guests, including business travelers, sports fans, and wedding parties. Conveniently situated near the vibrant East 4th Street Entertainment District and within walking distance of major sporting and entertainment venues, this property combines historic charm with a central urban location. Hyatt Regency Cleveland is part of the global Hyatt brand, known for its commitment to exceptional service and creating meaningful experiences for all guests. Their values of respect, integrity, humility, empathy, creativity, and fun shape the company culture and reinforce their dedication to inclusive hospitality.
At Hyatt, the belief is that guests choose their brand because of the caring and attentive associates who focus on providing efficient service and meaningful experiences. They are currently looking for a part-time colleague to join their team, working approximately 25 hours per week across four shifts. This schedule includes both early morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) shifts, reflecting a flexible work environment that supports a balanced lifestyle.
The role involves assisting bartenders by restocking supplies, cleaning bar and lounge areas, and maintaining the room service station. This position is essential in ensuring timely and professional delivery of food and beverage mobile orders from the bar or kitchen to guest rooms, adhering strictly to hotel standards. The colleague will be responsible for handling guest requests, including addressing calls for missing or extra items and providing support in placing mobile orders. Additional duties include supporting bartenders and servers during busy periods through bussing tables, delivering food to tables, and ensuring the lounge and restaurant environment remain tidy and welcoming.
Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of room service trays, carts, and delivery equipment is a vital part of this role. Effective communication with kitchen staff and bartenders to coordinate room service orders is crucial to ensure guest satisfaction. The colleague will also have responsibilities such as delivering guest amenities and restocking the hotel lobby Market, which features alcohol products.
Working at Hyatt Regency Cleveland offers more than just a job; it provides entry into the Hyatt family, where people are cared for so they can be their best. Employees receive six free nights at Hyatt hotels globally each year after 90 days of employment, access to a colleague, friends, and family rate upon hire, and discounts at onsite facilities like the 1890 Restaurant and Marengo Spa. The hotel is accessible via local RTA stops and offers discounted parking passes, enhancing convenience for colleagues.
Hyatt places a significant emphasis on wellbeing, offering access to mental health resources like the Headspace App and Hyatt Well-Check assessment tool, free of charge. Colleagues can also enjoy gym access and affordable medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days of employment. Development opportunities are abundant, with over 700 Hyatt hotels and resorts in the United States providing pathways for internal promotion. Regular check-in conversations with managers and a variety of educational tools through Hyatt Learning foster personal career growth. Employees may also receive education assistance of up to $1,000 per year towards their development.
Diversity and inclusion are integral to Hyatt's culture. The company has been recognized among the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign for 21 consecutive years. Hyatt is committed to creating an environment where every individual can bring their whole self to work and be their best. The company values people from all perspectives without exclusion based on color, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, identity, disability, or any other demographic. Hyatt Regency Cleveland operates as an equal opportunity employer and invites prospective colleagues to join a team that values respect, integrity, humility, empathy, creativity, and fun.
