Job Description

Hotel Verdant is a distinguished hotel located at 500 Main Street in Racine, Wisconsin. Renowned for its commitment to providing guests with an exceptional lodging experience, Hotel Verdant combines elegant accommodations with outstanding service to create a welcoming atmosphere. As a brand, Hotel Verdant prioritizes professionalism, quality, and customer satisfaction across all its operations to maintain its reputation as a top choice for travelers seeking comfort and excellence.

The Rooms Inspector position at Hotel Verdant plays a pivotal role within the housekeeping department by ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are consistently met. This role is vital to maintaining the overall quality and operational effectiveness of the hotel's guest rooms and public areas, thereby contributing significantly to the guest experience. As a Rooms Inspector, you will assist with the seamless operation and management of the housekeeping team, including overseeing staff training, coaching, counseling, and enforcing the hotel's standard operating procedures.

You will report directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Rooms Manager, working closely with housekeepers as well as other hotel departments such as Engineering and Front Office to advance the hotel's operational goals. Your daily responsibilities will include inspecting guest rooms and public spaces to ensure they meet the hotel's rigorous quality standards, communicating guest room status to the Front Desk efficiently, and managing important housekeeping documentation like checklists and boards.

In addition to quality assurance duties, the Rooms Inspector is expected to motivate housekeeping staff, foster a positive work environment, and occasionally step in as Supervisor on Duty, especially on scheduled days two to three times per week. Flexibility in work shifts and the ability to assist with staffing coverage are important aspects of this role. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational, supervisory, and communication skills, along with the ability to maintain open, collaborative relationships with colleagues at all levels.

Ultimately, the Rooms Inspector helps ensure that Hotel Verdant’s housekeeping department operates at peak efficiency and professionalism, maintaining cleanliness levels that meet or exceed hotel standards. This role requires a balance of hands-on involvement with strategic oversight to continuously improve guest satisfaction and uphold the hotel’s esteemed reputation. Candidates interested in this position will find themselves playing a key part in sustaining Hotel Verdant’s commitment to exceptional hospitality.
