Job Requirements
- Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- must have vision ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- must have upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout an 8 hour shift
- must have finger, hand, and upper body dexterity to push, pull, and move equipment and furniture
- must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout an 8 hour shift
- must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs
- experience operating residential cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaning equipment
- exposure to hazardous chemicals
- able to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity in indoor climate-controlled environment
- strong reading and writing abilities for completing paperwork and logging issues
- excellent problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training skills
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience with Marriott or recognized cleaning standards
- basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning equipment
- ability to read written instructions and communications
- strong communication skills
- problem-solving and reasoning abilities
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- passion for guest service and teamwork
Job Duties
- Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up and maintains cleaning carts
- cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets, fixtures in rooms and public areas
- washes shower walls, tubs, toilets, mirrors, sinks, and walls to maintain sanitary restrooms
- replaces towels, soaps, and room amenities, restocks literature
- washes hard floor areas by hand
- dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures, vents, and ceiling corners
- strips and remakes beds with fresh linens, checks for cleanliness
- checks and cleans closets, restocks guest room supplies
- vacuums rooms, hallways, and public areas including under furniture
- inspects door and window locks for safety, reports issues
- inspects room equipment and reports maintenance needs
- secures custody of equipment, keys, and supplies
- maintains a friendly, courteous demeanor
- assists laundry department with linen handling and operation of washers, dryers, and pressers
- cleans patio and balcony areas
- provides assistance to other employees and departments as needed
