This position is for a dedicated Housekeeper who plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and overall condition of the hotel guest rooms. The Housekeeper must have the ability to operate cleaning equipment and products effectively, perform deep cleaning projects as per the hotel's Deep Cleaning program, and maintain cleanliness standards not only in guest rooms but also in hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other work areas. In addition, the role involves assisting guests with inquiries, following company safety and security protocols, and contributing to the hotel’s loss prevention efforts.

The position requires physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods, lift heavy weights up to 45 lbs, and maneuver cleaning carts and equipment. Key attributes include excellent communication skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently. Basic computer and computational skills are also necessary for handling daily assignments and communication.

Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four hours
  • ability to maneuver in limited spaces and move between different areas promptly

  • ability to perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting and stretching
  • ability to operate office equipment including computers, printers, 10-key machines and multi-line phones
  • good hearing, visual, tasting and smelling abilities
  • ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace

Job Duties

  • Clean all guest rooms as assigned within the required time limit
  • update daily assignment sheets throughout the day
  • turn in assignment sheet and keys to the Housekeeping Supervisor at the end of the shift
  • change bed linens and make beds
  • replenish room supplies including amenities, drinking glasses, and clean linen
  • lift and move furniture in the room
  • clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner and proper chemicals
  • dust and clean all furniture including picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TVs, armoires, desks
  • thoroughly clean bathroom area by washing shower/tub, sink, floor, toilet
  • polish woodwork and metal fixtures
  • clean windows, door panels and sills
  • empty wastebaskets
  • replenish bathroom supplies and terry
  • sort, count, fold and distribute linen to linen closets
  • organize and stock cleaning cart and linen closets on assigned floors
  • transport trash and waste to disposal area
  • conduct deep cleaning projects in guest rooms according to hotel program
  • clean hallway, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, locker rooms and other work areas
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel products to meet health standards
  • turn in all Lost & Found items following procedures
  • practice hotel emergency procedures and loss prevention guidelines
  • report maintenance issues and necessary room repairs, ensuring unacceptable rooms are not released
  • ensure work area is clean when finished
  • perform all other duties assigned by manager or supervisor
