Job Requirements

  • Housekeeping is an active role, involving frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting
  • lifting, carrying and placing objects weighing up to 30 lbs without assistance
  • pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 75 lbs without assistance
  • remaining on feet for extended periods
  • remaining stationary for one hour, moving about/traversing property spaces, pushing, kneeling, bending, balancing, squatting, reaching and stretching for up to eight hours per day
  • work environment noise level can be moderate and occasionally loud
  • ability to communicate effectively and understand written and verbal instructions in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous housekeeping or room attendant experience valued
  • excellent customer service skills
  • strong verbal communication skills
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • attention to detail
  • ability to maintain cleanliness standards
  • knowledge of housekeeping best practices
  • familiarity with local area and attractions is a plus

Job Duties

  • Overseeing the cleanliness and appearance of guest rooms and facilities
  • make up beds and change linens
  • sweep, scrub, mop floors
  • vacuum carpets, rugs and draperies
  • wipe down and sanitize wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
  • dust or clean/polish furniture, fixtures and fittings
  • empty and clean trash containers
  • pick up litter around property
  • take in-room inventory and report product use and items guests have taken to purchase
  • report any needed repairs
  • ensure all lost and found items are logged
  • sort, wash, load and unload dirty laundry, fold and put away clean laundry
  • assist guests and answer their questions
  • be familiar with property amenities, local recommendations, and activities
  • perform other duties or special projects as assigned
