The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and service corridors in compliance with the hotel’s established procedures. Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- up to six months related experience or training
- ability to read and write simple sentences
- ability to communicate in English
- physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds
- ability to operate cleaning tools and follow safety procedures
- attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education or up to six months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read limited two-and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
- ability to print and speak simple sentences
- ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but simple instructions
- ability to deal with problems in situations
- ability to speak English to communicate with guests
- ability to recognize situations requiring supervisory attention
- knowledge of safety and security procedures for guests
Job Duties
- Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish and service guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures
- stock cart with guest room supplies at beginning of shift
- greet guests with a good morning, afternoon, or evening
- replace linens on beds and replenish guest room supplies
- empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays
- rearrange furnishings, drapes and room accessories
- provide necessary linen and amenities to guests as per guest room legend
- ensure guest rooms are left in uniform arrangement and locked
- report any damage, hazards, repairs, and strangers in assigned areas
- return items found as lost and found with detailed records
- manage keys signed out for the shift
- clean all corridors and service areas
- respond to housekeeping projects or requests
- replace light bulbs as needed
- restock cart and organize linen closet at end of shift
- perform other housekeeping duties as assigned
