About the Housekeeper Role: The Housekeeper position is central to the hotel's housekeeping operations, requiring a responsible and diligent individual tasked with the upkeep and cleanliness of guest rooms. In this role, the housekeeper is responsible for making accurate room reports daily to ensure accountability and quality control. Assigned a specific number of rooms, the employee must guarantee that each assigned room is thoroughly cleaned and meets the hotel's strict cleanliness standards. This includes cleaning bathrooms, stripping and making beds, dusting furniture and décor, sweeping balconies and floors, vacuuming, and organizing the room to perfection. Furthermore, the housekeeper is expected to check for forgotten items in rooms after guest checkouts and to promptly report any damaged or broken property to the supervisor. They must also handle any items left behind by guests responsibly, handing them in to the appropriate office. Maintaining cleanliness extends beyond the rooms to include common areas such as lockers and floors. The role requires adherence to safety and operational guidelines, effective communication with supervisors and co-workers, and flexibility to assist in other areas of the hotel as needed. This position demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude to uphold the hotel's high standards. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience or training or equivalent education and experience
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- physical ability to sit, stand, walk, talk and listen frequently during work
- frequent use of hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls
- ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- basic proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing

Job Duties
- make accurate room reports daily
- ensure assigned rooms are properly cleaned
- keep lockers and floors clean and tidy
- notify supervisor of any damaged or broken items in rooms
- hand in all items left by guests to supervisor or housekeeping office immediately
- receive room assignments from office coordinator
- clean at least 12 credits per day
- clean bathrooms on assigned rooms
- strip and make beds
- dust all furniture including pictures
- sweep balcony, clean outside table, chairs and railing
- sweep and mop all floors
- vacuum entire room
- check under mattress and bed for forgotten items, dust, debris if checkout
- clean mirrors and doorknobs
- ensure checkouts have a "make up room" sign and room service menu
- spray air freshener in rooms
- re-stock all amenities and collateral
- assist in other hotel areas as assigned
