The Residence Inn West Des Moines, located at 160 South Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50266, is currently seeking a Room Attendant to join its team. This hourly position plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest experiences through meticulous cleaning and upkeep of guest rooms. The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout guestrooms, public areas, and hallways, ensuring that the hotel reflects the high standards expected from Highgate properties. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, courteous, and dedicated to providing superior service to every guest. The Room Attendant must be prepared to work on weekends and maintain physical stamina to handle the duties that require lifting, standing, and physical effort.

Specific responsibilities for the Room Attendant include thoroughly cleaning guestrooms according to established standards, managing supplies and linen for housekeeping cart preparation, removing trash and dirty linens from assigned areas, and keeping all public spaces clean, neat, and vacuumed. Additionally, the role involves restocking cleaning carts for the next day’s use, replenishing cleaning chemicals, and reporting any missing items or maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager promptly. Handling lost and found items according to company standards is also a key part of this role. Above all, the Room Attendant ensures overall guest satisfaction by working efficiently and maintaining a friendly, welcoming demeanor. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly
  • ability to stand during entire shift
  • must be able to effectively communicate verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests
  • weekends mandatory

Job Duties

  • Thoroughly clean guestrooms according to standards
  • complete all pre-cleaning duties including guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-up
  • remove all trash and dirty linen from guestrooms and hallways
  • keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and vacuumed
  • restock housekeeping cleaning cart for next day’s use
  • replenish chemical bottles
  • report all missing items from room to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager
  • report any maintenance repairs immediately to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager
  • handle items for Lost and Found according to the standards
  • ensure overall guest satisfaction
