The organization’s sizable and varied portfolio demands high standards in all aspects of hotel management, from guest services to operational excellence. This makes it an ideal workplace for hospitality professionals looking to grow with an industry leader dedicated to service excellence and team collaboration.
The role of Room Attendant at Sonesta International Hotels is integral to the company’s promise of exceptional guest experiences. The Room Attendant, often referred to as RA, operates under the supervision of the Housekeeping Management Team and plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and public spaces. This position is essential in ensuring brand standards for time, product quality, and placement are meticulously met or exceeded. It is not only about cleaning but delivering hospitality that resonates with the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards, reflecting care, attention to detail, and readiness to respond to guest needs.
The Room Attendant’s responsibilities include thorough cleaning of assigned rooms by making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash; as well as servicing amenities such as kitchen areas and room appliances where applicable. Beyond guest rooms, the position may include work in commercial laundry facilities, operating washers and dryers, inspecting linens, and managing laundry supplies. Reporting maintenance issues, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating with housekeeping teams to maintain efficiency are also critical aspects of this role.
Sonesta values safety and teamwork, encouraging the Room Attendant to work collaboratively with other shifts and management while promoting a safe and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues alike. The role involves physically demanding tasks requiring standing, bending, lifting up to 75 pounds, and use of cleaning chemicals, emphasizing the need for candidates who are both physically capable and detail-oriented.
This position expects flexibility with shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the continuous demands of hospitality services. Candidates with prior housekeeping experience, especially in extended-stay environments, and proficiency in English or additional languages are preferred, highlighting the company’s commitment to multicultural and guest-focused service.
Sonesta offers a competitive pay range and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health and financial security of its employees and their families. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings accounts with company match, 401(k) plans with company match, paid vacation and sick days, educational assistance, and various employee perks such as hotel discounts and paid parental leave. This robust benefits program underscores Sonesta's holistic approach to employee well-being and professional growth.
