The Room Attendant position is integral to our mission of delivering impeccable guest services. This role focuses primarily on maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and a pleasant environment in guest rooms and surrounding areas. As a Room Attendant, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of cleaning guest rooms in accordance with strict hotel standards and protocols. This includes tasks such as making beds, changing linens, replenishing towels and amenities, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring bathrooms are spotless and fully stocked. You will also be responsible for attending to kitchen areas where applicable, ensuring appliances are clean and functioning.

Additionally, the role involves vigilance in identifying and reporting maintenance issues proactively to the relevant departments, which helps contribute to a safe and comfortable environment for guests. You will respect guest privacy rigorously by adhering to “Do Not Disturb” signs and other hotel policies. Proper handling of lost and found items, restocking housekeeping carts, and maintaining safety standards using appropriate personal protective equipment are also crucial components of this job.

The Room Attendant role is vital in shaping guests’ impressions and overall satisfaction. You will be expected to maintain accurate records of room status while providing courteous and professional service during all interactions with guests and team members. This position requires physical endurance and the ability to manage routine movement such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting, as well as a readiness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays. Job Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment highly desired
  • ability to communicate verbally and in writing to follow job duties
  • ability to work varied schedule as necessary including weekends and holidays
  • must tolerate prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs
  • must tolerate exposure to cleaning solutions
  • must be able to push up to 75 pounds, lift and carry up to 25 lbs

Job Duties

  • Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel standards
  • make beds, change linens, and replace towels
  • dust, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces
  • replenish amenities such as soap, shampoo, water, and coffee
  • ensure bathrooms are cleaned, sanitized, and stocked with supplies
  • clean kitchen areas and ensure appliances are clean and in working order
  • check and report any maintenance issues such as lighting, plumbing, or HVAC problems
  • follow proper procedures for handling lost and found items
  • respect guest privacy and follow hotel protocols for Do Not Disturb signage
  • restock housekeeping carts and storage areas
  • maintain cleanliness and proper safety protocols
  • deliver guest requested items to guest rooms upon request
  • adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • provide courteous and professional service when interacting with guests and co-workers
  • maintain accurate room status information on daily assignment sheets
  • adhere to precautions and use personal protective equipment for all chemicals as outlined on Safety Data Sheets
  • comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
