As a member of the Sonesta team, you join a brand that champions the philosophy of "Together We Thrive." This mindset reflects the company’s dedication to providing amazing hospitality that delights guests every time. Beyond its excellent service standards, Sonesta provides an environment where employees are supported, valued, and encouraged to grow within the organization. The Room Attendant role at Sonesta International Hotels is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort that guests expect. Reporting to the Housekeeping Management Team, Room Attendants ensure guest rooms and public areas meet brand standards for cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction. The position may also include working in the commercial laundry facility to assist in efficient linen care and supply management.
The duties of the Room Attendant revolve around upholding Sonesta’s G.U.E.S.T. standards — an acronym embodying the promise of excellent service in every guest interaction. Responsibilities include cleaning and servicing assigned rooms, making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and handling minor kitchen areas such as refrigerators and coffee makers. Communication with supervisors regarding room readiness and reporting of any issues or repairs is also an essential part of the job, ensuring operational smoothness and guest satisfaction.
Additionally, when assigned to laundry duties, Room Attendants monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers, inspect linens, and handle storage, ensuring that housekeeping supplies are used efficiently to minimize waste. The role often involves physically demanding tasks such as lifting, standing, bending, and the safe handling of commercial cleaning chemicals. This job requires flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Sonesta International Hotels values teamwork and quality service, encouraging coordination among staff and management across shifts to maintain high standards of service delivery. The role also demands adherence to federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both guests and employees.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to grow their hospitality career within a reputable, fast-growing international hotel company. Sonesta also offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and sick days, retirement plans with company match, educational assistance, and various employee discounts and perks. Joining Sonesta means being part of a dedicated team that values respect, inclusion, and the pursuit of hospitality excellence.
