The Residence Inn Salinas, located at 17215 El Rancho Way in Salinas, California, operates under the Highgate umbrella and maintains the highest standards in guest services and accommodations. The Room Attendant role at this location is hourly compensated and involves ensuring guests experience a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment. This position is pivotal in sustaining the hotel’s standards of excellence, focusing on the meticulous upkeep of guestrooms and public areas. The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in elevating the guest experience by delivering attentive, courteous, and prompt service, ensuring that each visitor’s stay is both pleasant and memorable.

This role requires robust attention to detail, with responsibilities that include thorough cleaning protocols designed to maintain the aesthetic and hygiene standards of the guestrooms. Duties extend to preparing the housekeeping cart with the necessary supplies, effectively removing trash and soiled linens, and maintaining the cleanliness of hallways and public spaces. Additionally, the Room Attendant ensures all linens and cleaning chemicals are replenished and functional, promptly reports missing items and maintenance issues, and adheres to the hotel’s Lost and Found procedures. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact graciously with guests and team members alike are essential, supporting the overall satisfaction goals of the Residence Inn Salinas and Highgate Hotels.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly
  • ability to stand during entire shift
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner

Job Duties

  • Thoroughly clean guestrooms according to standards
  • complete all pre-cleaning duties including guest supplies and housekeeping cart set-up
  • remove all trash and dirty linen from guestrooms and hallways
  • keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and vacuumed
  • restock housekeeping cleaning cart for next day’s use
  • replenish chemical bottles
  • report all missing items from room to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager
  • report any maintenance repairs immediately to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager
  • handle items for Lost and Found according to standards
  • ensure overall guest satisfaction
