The role of the Room Attendant is crucial in ensuring guest satisfaction and upholding the brand's reputation. This full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is based in Lexington, Kentucky, and is affiliated with esteemed brands like Marriott and Residence Inn. The Room Attendant is primarily responsible for the cleanliness, neatness, and overall upkeep of guest rooms, ensuring each room meets rigorous brand standards. This position demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and a customer-oriented approach to create a welcoming environment for hotel guests. Responsibilities include making beds, replacing guest amenities, dusting and polishing furnishings, vacuuming carpets, and handling guest requests promptly and courteously. The room attendant plays an integral part in the guest experience loop by maintaining room standards and promptly addressing any issues or requests that guests may have.
In addition to routine cleaning, the role necessitates adherence to safety protocols, such as handling hazardous materials properly following the company’s Hazardous Material Management Program and utilizing Safety Data Sheets. Physical demands include frequently moving and transporting objects up to 40 pounds unassisted and heavier with help, as well as sustaining extended periods of standing or moving throughout the entire work shift. The position requires excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with co-workers even in moderate noise environments, ensuring all tasks are completed with accuracy, thoroughness, and neatness. - Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
