Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a sous chef or relevant culinary experience
- Food Manager Certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and perform physical kitchen duties
- Ability to work flexible schedules including on-call shifts
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in food preparation and kitchen management
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff and volunteers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in menu planning and inventory control
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Manage a safe and healthy food service program that delivers quality meals for guests, meal groups, kitchen volunteers, and staff
- Assist in creating and maintaining cost-effective and healthy menu options
- Plan, cook, and serve meals when necessary
- Manage and enforce all food safety and sanitation requirements
- Assist in controlling food and kitchen supply inventories and vendor relations
- Serve in an on-call capacity during evenings, weekends, holidays, and inclement weather
- Provide training, orientation, and support to kitchen volunteers and meal groups
- Monitor and evaluate food service program and recommend improvements
- Document and maintain accurate records related to food service and inspections
- Interact with families, staff, and volunteers to ensure a warm and caring atmosphere
- Coordinate with other departments and external partners for food service program enhancement
