The role of Cook 3 at Rock & Brews is a pivotal culinary position designed for individuals with advanced cooking skills who thrive in high-energy kitchens. Starting at $18.86 per hour, the Cook 3 is expected to work flexible shifts, adapting to the varied demands of the restaurant’s operational hours. In this role, the Cook 3 will perform intermediate to advanced cooking techniques including braising, blackening, searing, and wok or grill cooking. They will act as a saucier responsible for preparing sauces, stews, and made-to-order sautéed dishes. The role also involves maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment in collaboration with the stewarding team. Furthermore, this Cook 3 will be instrumental in training other culinary team members and assisting with inventory management including storage and rotation.

The position demands adherence to departmental policies, internal controls, and safety regulations while demonstrating professional interaction with both guests and team members. The Cook 3 must be able to work irregular hours and extended shifts, which can include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

  • the ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts
  • the ability to meet physical demands of the job including lifting carrying pushing pulling or moving objects

Job Qualifications

  • the ability to use basic math skills including adding subtracting multiplying dividing and counting using whole numbers and fractions
  • the ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • the ability to interact with guests and team members professionally
  • the ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights early mornings weekends and holidays
  • the ability to perform physical demands of the job including standing walking climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching lifting carrying pushing pulling or moving objects up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally

Job Duties

  • perform intermediate to advanced food preparation and cooking duties including braising blackening and searing foods
  • prepare noodles
  • grill or wok cooking
  • act as a saucier to prepare sauces stews and made to order sautéed menu items
  • use and clean kitchen surfaces equipment and utensils safely including ovens grills fryers broilers and knives
  • ensure a safe sanitary and organized working environment working closely with stewards
  • assist in training other members of the culinary team
  • assist in storing and rotating all inventories as needed
  • perform opening and closing duties as needed
  • work in other kitchens venues as assigned to gain knowledge and assist with advanced food preparation
  • perform job duties in full compliance with departmental internal controls policies procedures and regulations
  • perform other duties as assigned
