Job Description

Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters (DOCR) is an independent specialty coffee company deeply rooted in passion for both coffee and the people who make it possible. Located in Rochester, DOCR has earned notable acclaim, including being named Best Coffee Shop in Metro Detroit by Hour Detroit Magazine for four consecutive years and a finalist for the 2026 Roast Magazine Roaster of the Year. The company places a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, hospitality, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every espresso, every bag of coffee, and every guest experience reflects their unwavering commitment to quality. DOCR operates as a specialty coffee roaster and café, serving as a gathering place where community, conversations, and exceptional coffee converge.

The role of Store Manager at DOCR is more than overseeing day-to-day café operations. This position is about building and leading a team that takes pride in crafting exceptional guest experiences and developing future leaders within the company. The Store Manager at DOCR has significant autonomy and responsibility to shape not only operational procedures but also the culture and guest experience at the Rochester location. Working closely with assistant managers, shift supervisors, and leadership, the Store Manager drives excellence through attention to detail and intentional leadership. This role demands a balance of strong operational skills, financial oversight, team development, and a passion for specialty coffee.

In this leadership role, you will cultivate a supportive and accountable workplace culture reflecting DOCR's values of hospitality and continuous improvement. You will be instrumental in recruiting, coaching, and inspiring a high-performing team of hospitality professionals. Managing financial performance through revenue growth strategies and expense management, you will ensure the café is consistently stocked, organized, and upholds the highest standards of coffee quality and service. The role also involves innovating and improving operational systems to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.

DOCR seeks a Store Manager who believes that leadership is about serving others and takes pride in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment with composure and humility, recognizes the importance of details in delivering exceptional experiences, and approaches excellence as a daily habit rather than a one-time event. Leadership experience in hospitality, restaurants, cafés, retail, or specialty coffee is strongly preferred for this role. DOCR offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a company-matched 401(k), paid time off, complimentary beverages, employee discounts, coffee education, and career advancement opportunities. Joining DOCR means being part of a company that invests thoughtfully and intentionally in both its people and its product.
