Job Requirements
- Must possess a class A Commercial Driver's License with required endorsements
- Must have 1 year experience in the past 3 years or completed driver development course
- Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
- Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under section 391 FMC regulations
- Must meet Long Combination Vehicles qualification and certification standards if operating in specified states
- Must have basic communication skills
- Must be physically able to hook-up trailers lifting about 100 pounds
- Must be able to sit, bend, twist, and climb repeatedly
- Must be able to follow instructions and complete training
- Must be able to work independently or in a team
- Must demonstrate initiative and motivation
Job Qualifications
- Possess a class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple hazardous materials and tank endorsements
- Have at least 1 year experience within the most recent 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course
- Possess an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards
- Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations
- Have basic written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to hook-up and break-down trailer sets requiring an average lift force of about 100 pounds
- Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrate initiative and motivation
Job Duties
- Operate tractor-trailer combination including doubles and triples where applicable
- Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment
- Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports
- Maintain accurate daily logs
- Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
- Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch as required
