Job Description
Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a distinguished private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system dedicated to serving a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. With more than 6,000 colleagues representing the diversity of the communities it serves, TMH stands as a premier career destination for healthcare professionals committed to excellence in patient care and community service. Established as the region's healthcare leader, TMH operates a 772-bed acute care hospital and offers the only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, and Pediatric Intensive Care in the area. The institution boasts some of the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic, and surgery programs in the Panhandle, delivering comprehensive care through a variety of specialty care centers, a psychiatric hospital, six residency programs, and over 50 affiliated physician practices.
This role is part of an esteemed nursing leadership team at TMH, reporting directly to the Director of Inpatient Services. The position primarily involves the supervision and management of registered nurses (RNs) and Assistant Nurse Managers within inpatient units and behavioral emergency services. It encompasses a pivotal responsibility to oversee staff training, schedule staffing, manage hiring and termination processes, and monitor patient flow alongside performance metrics. This leadership role also ensures compliance with the Behavioral Health Center (BHC) policies and procedures, The Joint Commission standards, and State of Florida licensure requirements. Acting as a delegate during the absence of the Director of Inpatient Services, the position requires a proactive approach to promoting nursing practice philosophies and ethical guidelines while representing the BHC in hospital-wide nursing meetings. Additionally, the role involves mentoring nursing students and fostering a cohesive nursing care environment aligned with TMH's high standards of patient care and professional conduct. This opportunity suits seasoned nursing professionals with a strong administrative background prepared to make significant contributions to TMH’s continued healthcare excellence.
