The position of Shift Manager (Registered Nurse) at Doctors Hospital of Manteca is a full-time, night shift role that carries significant responsibility and accountability for the delivery of skilled, high-quality patient care. The Shift Manager serves not only as a critical clinical resource but also as a leader who plans, organizes, and evaluates nursing practices to ensure the hospital’s mission and standards are upheld. They work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide compassionate nursing services while demonstrating advanced technical skills, critical thinking, integrity, and professionalism.
This role reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and plays an essential part in managing the personnel and operational functions of the Wound Center during assigned shifts. The Shift Manager prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care, providing guidance on clinical issues related to patient care plans. As a peer role model, this nurse leader exemplifies professional behavior and excellence in nursing practice, promoting ongoing education, research efforts, and adherence to hospital policies and nursing philosophies.
Candidates for the Shift Manager role should possess active California Registered Nurse licensure and have completed training that enables them to provide safe and proficient nursing care for a wide range of patient populations including pediatric, medical, surgical, correctional, and geriatric patients. Depending on the level (I-IV) of the Shift Manager position, a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or higher, as well as national certification, are required. Experience levels vary from 2 years for entry-level managers to 7 years for senior shift managers.

Job Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification
- National Certification for Shift Manager III and IV
- Ability to provide proficient nursing care for all patient populations
- Minimum 1-2 years managerial experience
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Ability to fulfill essential functions of the position
- Educational background in nursing relevant to level of Shift Manager
- Experience ranging from 2 to 7 years depending on Shift Manager level
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science for Shift Manager III
- Master of Arts or Master of Science for Shift Manager IV
- Ability to provide safe and proficient nursing care for pediatric, medical, surgical, correctional, and geriatric populations
- Active California Registered Nurse license
