The role of Registered Nurse (RN) Shift Manager at Emanuel Medical Center is a vital leadership position within the Nursing Department. Reporting directly to the Nursing Department Director, the RN Shift Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing staff activities during the designated shift, which in this case is the night shift. This role requires a dynamic and experienced nurse capable of utilizing the nursing process alongside strong organizational and leadership skills to deliver effective patient care. The RN Shift Manager ensures that patient care is tailored according to the age and developmental needs of each patient served, promoting a safe and supportive environment throughout the unit. The position also involves close collaboration with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to assess and fulfill staffing needs, ensuring sufficient coverage for quality patient care. Additionally, the RN Shift Manager provides administrative support to the Nursing Department Director and contributes to operational efficiency and clinical excellence on their shift. This full-time position offers an hourly wage in the range of $51.18 to $81.91, dependent on qualifications and experience and includes a generous sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 based on experience. Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or higher
  • valid California RN license
  • current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • minimum two years of acute care nursing experience
  • at least two years labor and delivery experience
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • ability to work night shift
  • excellent communication skills
  • managerial experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Two to five years acute experience or equivalent
  • RN skills as described for designated unit
  • two years of labor and delivery experience
  • managerial experience preferred
  • current California RN license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring AWHONN certification
  • NRP certification

Job Duties

  • Coordinate nursing staff activities during the designated shift
