The Critical Care Shift Manager (Registered Nurse) position at Doctors Hospital of Manteca is a pivotal leadership role within the Critical Care Unit. This full-time night shift position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the delivery of skilled and high-quality patient care during their assigned shifts. The role involves assisting in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices to align with the hospital and Critical Care Services' mission. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate a high degree of critical thinking, technical skill, integrity, initiative, accuracy, and compassionate nursing care through interdisciplinary collaboration.
This leadership position supports the Department Director in directing the development and evaluation of nursing personnel and maintaining the smooth operations of the patient care unit. The Shift Manager functions as a resource for clinical issues related to the plan of care, prescribes and delegates nursing tasks, and contributes actively to the hospital’s nursing philosophy, educational programs, and research initiatives. The role requires acting as a peer role model, demonstrating superior expertise in nursing care delivery, and exercising oversight of all department functions during the shift. This position offers a salary range of $47.33 to $73.34 hourly, with individual wages determined by various factors such as qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor or Master of Arts or Science in Nursing, coupled with specialized training in critical care or management. They must be licensed as an RN in California with required certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six months of hire. A national nursing certification is required for certain shift manager levels. Candidates should bring significant critical care nursing experience and demonstrated managerial expertise ranging from one to seven years depending on the specific shift manager level. - Active California RN license
- Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS certification
- PALS certification within six months of hire

- Completion of approved critical care training
- Superior arrhythmia recognition and test scores of 85 percent or higher
- Managerial experience from one to seven years depending on shift manager level
