We are currently inviting applications for the role of Shift Manager within our inpatient psychiatric services. This is a full-time, night shift position, offering an hourly wage ranging approximately from $53.73 to $85.94, dependent on qualifications and experience. Notably, experienced candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000, enhancing the attractiveness of this opportunity.

The Shift Manager will report directly to the Director of Patient Care Services and play a pivotal role in coordinating nursing staff and patient services during the designated shift. This leadership position requires a blend of clinical knowledge, nursing process expertise, and organizational skills to ensure that all patient care activities align with developmental and age-appropriate standards. The Shift Manager will carefully assess staffing needs for the unit, collaborating closely with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to guarantee that patient care demands are consistently met. This role provides a unique chance for a dedicated healthcare professional to influence patient outcomes positively while leading a team of nursing staff in a dynamic and supportive environment.

This role assumes a significant responsibility for ensuring patient care quality, staff supervision, and administration of behavioral management protocols, all within an environment that demands adaptability and responsiveness to urgent and complex clinical situations. Candidates will need to demonstrate at least three years of experience in inpatient psychiatric nursing or a related equivalent, with prior supervisory experience being a preferred qualification. Our ideal candidate will possess current California RN licensure, BLS certification, and required behavioral management training as mandated by the hospital.

The physical and working demands of this role involve frequent standing and walking, lifting or positioning patients or equipment up to 50 pounds, and performing physical activities such as reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching, alongside quick mobility. This job requires the ability to adjust vision as necessary to fulfill position tasks and necessitates resilience in facing exposure risks including contagious diseases, emergency situations, and unpredictable working hours.
