Job Description

AdventHealth is a renowned healthcare organization committed to delivering compassionate and comprehensive medical care while serving the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. As a faith-based organization, AdventHealth focuses on extending the healing ministry of Christ through professional excellence and spiritual growth, creating a community that values diversity and promotes inclusiveness. The organization consistently ensures its employees are supported and empowered to thrive both professionally and personally, fostering a collaborative environment where every team member’s unique experiences contribute to the mission. This particular opportunity is located in Burleson, Texas, at the 11801 South Freeway facility, where the Emergency Department (ER) operates on a schedule designed to meet the high demands of emergency medicine.

The role available is for a Registered Nurse (RN) within the Emergency Department on a PRN (pro re nata, or as-needed) basis with night shifts. This position offers different tiers that provide varying levels of commitment, pay, and responsibilities, making it suitable for a range of nursing professionals based on experience and qualifications. The pay ranges from $33.65 to $62.59 per hour depending on tier level, with additional shift differentials for night work. The nursing tiers range from RN Tier 1 to RN Tier 4, requiring commitments from 36 to 72 hours per scheduling period, with specific weekend and holiday shift requirements.

The RN in this role is expected to monitor patient vital signs and symptoms closely, adapting care plans as required to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Collaboration with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals is a critical part of the role to guarantee comprehensive patient care. Excellent communication skills are essential as the nurse will provide patient and family education, emotional support, and updates on treatment plans. The position necessitates the ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced, high-stress environment common to emergency departments. Proficiency in emergency medical procedures and proper use of medical equipment is mandatory.

This role requires an Associate's degree in Nursing and a current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Candidates should have at least one year of emergency room experience within the last three years, with a preference for those with critical care or emergency experience. Certification requirements include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), with additional certifications such as Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) and Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) regarded as preferred qualifications. Physical capabilities must meet the requirements of the role, ensuring the nurse can effectively carry out all duties in this demanding environment.

The employment type is PRN, providing flexibility but requiring adherence to scheduled hours per the tier commitments. Nurses may request unpaid vacation time under strict conditions, emphasizing the importance of availability during peak holiday periods. AdventHealth promotes diversity and is an equal opportunity employer in compliance with federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws. Overall, this is a compelling opportunity to join a respected healthcare provider, contribute meaningfully to emergency care, and grow in a spiritually uplifting workplace.
