Job Description

AdventHealth is a nationally recognized healthcare organization committed to delivering whole-person care that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. Rooted in a mission to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ, AdventHealth emphasizes compassion, integrity, and respect in all its interactions. With a strong community presence and a team-oriented culture, this healthcare system combines advanced medical technology with compassionate care to improve quality of life. At AdventHealth, employees are valued not only for their professional expertise but also for the unique perspectives and experiences they bring to the team, fostering a collaborative environment aimed at achieving excellence together.

This particular role is a full-time Registered Nurse position based in Killeen, Texas, working a night shift at the medical facility located at 2201 S Clear Creek Rd. The pay range for this position is competitive, ranging from $33.28 to $61.91 per hour. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care by assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The nurse serves as a critical liaison between hospital and post-hospital care providers, ensuring smooth patient transitions and continuity of care throughout the healthcare system.

The position requires thorough assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and environmental needs, including careful discharge planning and community resource coordination. Key responsibilities include administering medications, IV fluids, and treatments in compliance with physician orders and nursing standards. Adherence to safety and infection control protocols is paramount, with the nurse expected to handle emergency situations such as Code Blue events and life-threatening dysrhythmias. The role also involves supervising and providing feedback to other staff members to elevate productivity and maintain high-quality care.

Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in applying advanced nursing principles with independent clinical judgment and decision-making skills. The nursing environment may involve working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, some of whom may exhibit aggressive or non-compliant behaviors, requiring physical ability and emotional resilience. Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership capabilities are essential, alongside a commitment to AdventHealth’s core values: Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Own It.

AdventHealth offers an attractive benefits package from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, a 403-B retirement plan, parental leave, mental health resources, and programs supporting whole-person well-being. The organization encourages career development and provides various support resources to maintain employee health and morale. This role represents an excellent opportunity to grow professionally in a supportive and mission-driven healthcare environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and holistic care.
