The ICU Registered Nurse role at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano offers an exhilarating opportunity for nurses with at least two years of critical care experience seeking to expand their clinical expertise and contribute to a highly skilled team environment. Working in a 32-bed Adult Mixed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit with a significant neurological component, nurses will be actively engaged in managing complex patient care scenarios in one of Texas’ leading comprehensive stroke centers. This role emphasizes dynamic learning, mentorship, and professional growth in a state-of-the-art facility. Nurses will partner closely with intensivists, advanced nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to provide interventions directly in the ICU and surgical suites, emphasizing bedside care and patient-centered approaches.

The Registered Nurse will utilize a professional practice model to oversee patient care delivery, focusing on detailed clinical assessments, individualized care planning, patient and family education, and delegation of responsibilities adhering to the Texas Nursing Practice Act. Nurses will develop therapeutic relationships that address not only the physical but also the emotional and psychosocial needs of patients and families. Job Requirements

  • Min of 2 years ICU RN experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting
  • Specialized field of study in nursing
  • Ability to work full-time shifts of 3 days, 12 hours each
