This opportunity is for a full-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse located at AdventHealth's facility in Killeen, Texas. This pivotal role is designed for healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality emergency nursing care. The Emergency Department Nurse evaluates patients upon arrival using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) tool to prioritize care effectively. Duties include assigning patients to appropriate treatment areas based on vital signs, observations, and brief medical histories, performing assessments, and documenting all relevant procedures according to departmental and hospital policies. The nurse acts swiftly in potential life-threatening situations and implements preventive measures to safeguard patient health. Equipped with knowledge of medications and intravenous therapy, this role involves administering and managing cardiac drips, blood products, and essential medications accurately. The Emergency Department Nurse utilizes electronic systems like the Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to enhance patient care coordination and communication across healthcare teams. This role demands a high level of professionalism, independence in clinical judgment, compliance with safety protocols, and responsiveness to dynamic emergency situations. The nurse is also expected to support mental health resources and contribute to the department's smooth operation by managing supplies and working collaboratively within the healthcare team. AdventHealth values nurses who embrace ongoing education, licensure maintenance, and a holistic approach to patient care that addresses physical and emotional needs. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance from day one, paid time off, a 403-B retirement plan, paid parental leave, career development opportunities, and access to whole person well-being resources including mental health and pet benefits. The pay range for this position is $33.65 to $62.59 per hour, reflecting the facility's commitment to competitive compensation and career growth for nursing professionals. The work environment at AdventHealth encourages teamwork, innovation, and compassionate care dedicated to serving the community's health needs with integrity and kindness.
