The role of Registered Nurse Charge at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Buda is a full-time position operating on a day shift schedule of 7am to 7pm, with three 12-hour shifts per week. This position holds significant responsibility and influence over patient care within the Main Nursing Unit, which covers Medical Surgical, Orthopedics, Intermediate Care, and Critical Care populations. Patient-to-nurse ratios vary by the unit's acuity level, with a 1:4 or 1:5 ratio for Medical Surgical/Telemetry, 1:3 for Progressive/Intermediate Care, and 1:2 for Intensive Care patients. The nurse charge ensures adherence to nursing regulations and hospital priorities, monitors and evaluates patient conditions, formulates customized nursing care plans, and assesses responses to treatments. A crucial part of the role involves utilizing nursing judgment and critical thinking to perform precise health assessments and nursing procedures, applying evidence-based research to improve care where applicable. - At least two years nursing experience
- Valid registered nurse license
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired
