The position of RN Behavioral Health Assistant Nurse Manager and Clinical Educator is a vital leadership role within this inpatient behavioral health hospital. Reporting to the Executive Director of Behavioral Health, this role serves as an educator and resource for the behavioral health team, responsible for the creation and implementation of educational frameworks that enhance the growth and proficiency of both licensed and unlicensed staff. Job Requirements
- RN/BSN required
- Minimum five years clinical nursing supervisor/charge nurse experience
- 1-3 years behavioral health experience preferred
- Experience with clinical information systems preferred
- Experience in project planning and implementation preferred
- Valid RN license in the State of Connecticut

Job Duties
- Oversees and coordinates new hire orientation for behavioral health staff
- Oversees and coordinates nursing education programs ensuring consistency with best practices and regulatory compliance
- Educates staff on quarterly outcome improvement efforts
- Directs, supervises, and participates in the orientation of new hires into clinical settings
- Plans and evaluates training programs for licensed and unlicensed behavioral health staff
- Utilizes Relias Learning Management System to track employee education and compliance
- Manages delivery of interdisciplinary plan of care to assure standards of care are met
- Provides oversight and clinical management of assigned units
- Works collaboratively with off-shift supervisors to lead unit staff
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs patient care operations within budget and quality standards
- Maintains supplies, equipment, and unit cleanliness
- Direct supervision of clinical staff including performance evaluations and corrective actions
- Participates in committee and board meetings and prepares educational materials
- Serves as member of the QAPI committee
- Identifies and facilitates education needs related to quality initiatives
- Participates in survey preparedness, corrective action planning, and audits
- Attends meetings and calls from regulatory agencies to stay current on nursing practices
- Performs additional duties as assigned
