The role of Risk Manager (RN/LPN) with multi-facility coverage at Catholic Health Services is a pivotal leadership position within the organization. This position is responsible for championing patient and resident safety by developing, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive risk management programs across two assigned facilities. The Risk Manager serves as the designated Patient/Resident Safety Officer, actively promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance. This role entails conducting thorough investigations into incidents, accidents, and complaints to identify underlying causes and developing strategic corrective actions that mitigate potential risks. The Risk Manager analyzes trends and risk exposures through detailed data analysis, ensuring proactive identification of risks before they impact patient or organizational safety. Responsibilities also include timely and accurate reporting of reportable events to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, participation in quality and safety committees, and leading risk management education efforts to support continuous staff development and compliance.

Job Requirements
- Clear and active Registered Nurse to practice in the state of Florida (LPN accepted)
- Minimum of two years of risk management experience
- Certification in risk management required
- Ability to collect, collate, analyze and trend data
- Knowledge of risk exposures
- Strong communication skills in one-on-one situations and ability to deliver verbal presentations to small groups
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Knowledge of applicable OBRA, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities, OSHA, AHCA, state and federal regulations
- Must have a valid Florida driver's license
- Must have knowledge of computer office/clinical software
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
Job Qualifications
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with strong risk management experience
- Minimum of two years of healthcare risk management experience
- Risk Management Certification required
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with incident reporting, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state healthcare regulations, including OBRA, OSHA, Joint Commission, and CARF standards
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare software applications
- Valid Florida driver's license
Job Duties
- Lead and coordinate the facility's risk management program in collaboration with facility leadership
- Provide risk management coverage and support for two assigned facilities, balancing priorities and maintaining a visible presence at each location
- Conduct investigations of incidents, accidents, complaints, and adverse events
- Analyze and trend data to identify risk exposures and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure timely reporting of reportable events to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
- Participate in quality, safety, and risk management committees
- Develop and implement risk reduction strategies and corrective action plans
- Conduct audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Serve as a resource to leaders and staff on risk management, patient safety, and regulatory matters
- Coordinate and deliver risk management education and training during orientation and throughout the year
- Assist legal counsel with litigation support, record production requests, and investigations
- Promote a culture of resident/patient safety and continuous improvement
