Job Description

The role available is that of a full-time team member responsible for a variety of duties aimed at maintaining the flow and quality of service throughout the guest's visit. The position requires an individual who can quickly welcome guests, manage tables, and communicate effectively with kitchen and management staff to address any issues or requests promptly. The role also involves a strong emphasis on cleanliness, including clearing tables, cleaning seating areas, polishing silverware, and ensuring that beverage and food service equipment is properly maintained.

In addition to routine servicing and cleaning duties, the team member will assist servers with bussing and resetting tables, help with the to-go order process, and participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed about new menu items and updates. Physical activity is a key part of the role, with requirements of standing and walking for lengthy periods, bending, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and handling various cleaning and service tasks that demand dexterity and stamina. This position is suitable for candidates 16 years of age or older, who possess the ability to work flexible shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends.

The team member must have basic skills in reading, writing, math, and task completion, as well as problem solving and independent judgment capabilities. Additionally, strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, are mandatory. Knowledge of dish room operations, ice and beer bin refilling, and operation of glassware washing machines will be beneficial for excelling in this role. The work environment is primarily indoors with moderate noise levels and may include exposure to slippery surfaces and smoke.

Job Qualifications

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • knowledge of and ability to identify menu products
  • ability to operate a glassware washing machine and to re-fill ice bins and beer bins, utilizing ice machines
  • knowledge of the dish room, including separating silverware, dishes & glassware appropriately
  • candidate must be able to communicate in English, both in written and oral form
  • ability of simple reading, math, writing and task completion skills is required
  • must have the skills: compiling, coordination, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
  • flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate
  • must be a minimum of 16 years of age

Job Duties

  • Promptly welcome all guests and ensure they receive responsive, professional, and gracious service always
  • anticipate the guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency to maintain a productive working relationship with all guests and deliver necessary items
  • effectively communicate with management, chefs, and culinary staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and other team members
  • clear tables after guests leave, promptly clean tabletops/seating area, thoroughly clean the booths and chairs, and take tableware to the dish room
  • assist servers in pre-bus and busing tables
  • pre-bussing includes clearing, wiping tabletops, chairs & booths, and setting tables
  • help set up to-go/pick up area and help deliver to-go orders to host desk to be picked up by guests
  • refill beverages as necessary
  • set and reset tables and side stations before, during and after service periods
  • deliver food orders to tables
  • ensure all machines are cleaned properly
  • fold/roll napkins when needed and keep silverware polished
  • reset tables in a timely and efficient manner
  • participate in pre-shift meetings and learn new menu items
  • assist the kitchen in expediting the service process to maintain the flow of service
  • maintain general cleanliness in dining room during service periods
  • responsible for taking, compiling and delivering and putting away warehouse orders
  • any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
