The role of Retail Team Leader (Key Holder) at Gordon Food Service is an exciting leadership opportunity for individuals passionate about customer service and retail operations. Located at 465 North Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, TN, this full-time position offers a competitive pay rate starting at $18+ per hour based on experience. The Retail Team Leader is a critical member of the store’s leadership team, entrusted with responsibilities such as opening and closing the store, supporting daily store operations, managing merchandise inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role is tailor-made for candidates who are detail-oriented, proficient in operating point of sale systems, and motivated to build and lead a team towards increased responsibility and leadership growth. The Retail Team Leader also plays a vital role in cash handling, training, and developing sales associates to exceed store performance standards.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • availability to work flexible full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • ability to respond to alarm calls and work at other local stores if needed
  • successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • physical capability for frequent lifting above shoulder height

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of retail experience with increasing responsibility
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to safely operate power equipment such as slicing equipment, walkie lifts, and forklifts
  • strong customer service skills
  • effective leadership and team building abilities

Job Duties

  • Opening and closing the store
  • help complete daily store operations and tasks
  • assist in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks
  • organize merchandise and transfer merchandise from stockroom to store
  • maintain merchandise quality through product rotation and proper food handling
  • provide exceptional customer service by building relationships and resolving issues
  • handle cash including bank deposits and setting registers
  • build and train the sales team
  • supervise sales associates in their duties
