The Retail Supervisor role at Aramark is fundamental to maintaining an efficient and customer-focused retail operation. Reporting directly to the Retail Manager, the Retail Supervisor oversees a team of employees at a designated location and plays a central role in coordinating activities between management, guests, employees, and vendors. This position is responsible for ensuring that day-to-day retail operations run smoothly, including supervising receiving and tagging of merchandise, assigning daily tasks, and maintaining high standards of customer service across the store.

This role requires a hands-on supervisor who can manage inventory levels, oversee the merchandising of the sales floor, and lead special projects such as holiday events and promotions. The Retail Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that all incoming products are handled properly—from receiving and pricing to placement on the sales floor—and that inventory is meticulously tracked and maintained. Additionally, the supervisor is expected to be proficient in the point-of-sale (POS) system, capable of cashier duties when necessary, and committed to enforcing wage and hour compliance.

Aside from operational tasks, the Retail Supervisor leads efforts to train new hires, maintain effective communication within the team, and enhance customer engagement by identifying merchandising opportunities. The role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, and extended periods of walking or standing, highlighting the importance of stamina and a proactive attitude.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
at least 2 years of experience in a similar retail supervisory role
ability to use telephone, computer, Micros Point of Service (POS) system
may be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends
physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and/or stand or walk for extended periods
willingness to wear uniforms and/or use personal protective equipment (PPE)
strong organizational and multitasking skills
good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
ability to use telephone, computer, Micros Point of Service (POS) system
may be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends
familiarity with inventory management and retail merchandising strategies
strong leadership and team coordination skills
excellent customer service and communication abilities
basic math and cash handling skills

Job Duties

Supervises the receiving and tagging of incoming merchandise
assigns daily tasks and ensures tasks are performed correctly and in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service
coordinates the moving of incoming merchandise to retail office, storage area(s) and/or display floor
handles the storing of all incoming merchandise in assigned locations
ensures correct pricing on all products on the floor
maintains customer service standards
cashiers when necessary to expedite the processing of guests' purchasing
responsible for the recording of damaged merchandise
merchandises the floor for maximum sale of all products
works with team members to facilitate the stocking of the floor with appropriate levels of merchandise
leads special projects such as holidays, events, book signings
communicates with the manager to ensure all received products are placed on the retail floor as soon as possible
leads the maintenance of inventory levels within guidelines
follows through with information to team members on new products or procedures applying the information book on the floor
works with manager to always ensure full productivity on the floor
interacts with customers for possible merchandising opportunities
takes charge of unpacking and pricing of new merchandise
conducts periodic inventory count based on schedule established by controller and retail buyer
ensures that packing slips and invoices are reconciled by the retail clerk
fully understands the point-of-sale system
follows and implements all wage and hour standards/procedures including meal breaks and schedules
in partnership with the manager, schedules staff on a weekly basis and resolves appropriate break schedules to improve floor coverage and customer service
trains new hires on POS system, overall safety, and job responsibilities
