Job Requirements

High school diploma or its equivalent
2-3 years of related retail experience
One year of management experience
Experience in rotational assignments within different store departments
Strong communication skills to provide clear and precise direction
Conflict resolution skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to analyze financial and statistical data
Ability to teach suggestive selling
Commitment to safety at all times
Mentoring skills
Completion of required certifications

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
2-3 years of related retail experience
One year of management experience
Experience with rotational assignments in various store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, customer service and product flow
Ability to communicate clearly and provide precise direction to team members
Ability to resolve conflict by addressing root cause issues
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions
Ability to teach suggestive selling techniques
Ability to lead a safety-conscious organization
Ability to mentor various team member levels including SDITs, hourly team members and team leaders
Successful completion of all required certifications

Job Duties

Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members
Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs
Promote succession planning by providing career paths, identifying development needs for team members, and making promotion decisions
Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge
Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department
Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service
Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations
Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain area standards
Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and complete required training
Spend majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service
Promote a safe work environment
Maintain reliable and consistent attendance
Perform other duties as assigned
