The Senior Store Manager position at Mattress Firm is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the company's vision and operational excellence across multiple store units. This role involves leading sales initiatives, supporting omni-channel strategies, and holding store teams accountable for merchandising and customer experience. The Senior Store Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that associates are well-trained in sales techniques, product knowledge, and operational activities to achieve both individual and team sales targets. With a competitive salary range of $97,000 to $111,000 per year, plus additional bonus opportunities, this position offers an attractive compensation package along with comprehensive benefits. The Senior Store Manager is expected to foster a customer-centric environment, communicate effectively with various stakeholders including distribution centers and district managers, and participate in staffing and hiring activities to build a qualified team. This role also involves continuous development through training and coursework, ensuring that the manager stays current on company policies, product knowledge, and market trends. The position requires physical capability to lift or move 50+ pounds, emphasizing the hands-on nature of store leadership.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Drive individual and team sales performance and KPIs
  • train and coach store employees in sales, product knowledge and operating activities, providing constructive feedback
  • create an environment where customers always at the center and have an exceptional experience
  • communicate professionally and regularly with field employees to address immediate concerns and questions
  • assist in multi-store staffing, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates
  • continue to develop skills, competencies, product knowledge through assigned course work, training, and other company led activities
  • conduct workforce management activities utilizing Operations team support and tools
  • achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service at the store level
  • ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards
  • ensure company policies and state regulations are followed
  • partner with marketing to plan, implement and monitor assigned store’s social media strategy
  • lift or move 50+ pounds
