Job Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two to three years' recent experience as a cashier or in customer service or equivalent cash management experience
Ability to work full-time with a flexible schedule including evenings, Fridays, and at least one weekend day
Comfortable talking with customers
Experience handling cash drawer operations
Capability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Availability to work varying shifts across seven days a week

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two to three years' recent experience as a cashier or in customer service or equivalent cash management experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Basic math and cash handling skills
Customer-focused attitude
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with retail point-of-sale systems preferred

Job Duties

Remains consistently friendly and courteous to all customers
Computes or re-computes bill, itemized lists, and invoices showing amount due
Makes change, accepts checks and credit cards, and issues receipts to customers
Understands, applies, and follows cashier's standards as written
Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions
Applies/processes cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise
Promotes Summit Speed Card and processes applications
Balances cash drawer and completes closeout sheet each day
Answers incoming telephone calls
Assists with merchandising duties as needed
General housekeeping as necessary
Promotes in-store specials
Contributes to a positive workplace environment
Processes returns and completes paperwork for warranty returns when a return specialist is not available
Ensures retail location is clear of missing parts
Stocks shelves and counters with merchandise
Assists in setting up advertising displays or arranging merchandise on counters to promote sales
Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise
Obtains merchandise requested by customer and places merchandise in a bag or box
Assists customers in carrying larger items to their vehicle
Answers customer's questions and offers assistance or direction
Greets customers when they enter the store and checks packages and receipts when exiting the store
Understands, applies, and follows performance standards as written
