Job Description

Sherwin-Williams is a global leader in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of paints, coatings, and related products to professional, industrial, commercial, and retail customers. Established over 150 years ago, Sherwin-Williams has built a reputation for innovation and excellence in the coatings industry, serving a wide range of customers from homeowners and contractors to large industrial manufacturers. With a vast network of retail stores and wholesale branches, Sherwin-Williams is committed to providing customers with high-quality products and outstanding service while supporting their employees through growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

This particular role is a part-time Store Associate position at Sherwin-Williams located at Store #701071, 1421 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312. The role’s starting wage is $13.75 per hour. Store Associates are integral to the success and daily operations of Sherwin-Williams retail locations. They work directly with customers in both the wholesale and retail segments, helping them identify and understand their product needs, whether that involves paint, coatings, or innovative solutions designed to protect and enhance surfaces.

Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service by answering questions and offering product recommendations that best fit the customers' projects and needs. Store Associates maintain up-to-date knowledge of product features and specifications to ensure that customers receive accurate and helpful guidance. Additionally, associates are required to uphold the high visual and quality standards of the store, including maintaining proper merchandising and stock conditions. The role also involves processing sales transactions accurately, managing work order files and formulas, and occasionally mixing and tinting paints to customer specifications.

This position also requires the Store Associate to handle customer concerns with professionalism and urgency to guarantee maximum client satisfaction. Associates are expected to contribute to achieving store sales goals consistently and support other store operations such as loading and unloading delivery trucks, assisting in deliveries as needed, stocking shelves, setting up displays, and maintaining clean equipment and in-stock conditions.

Part of the employment process involves a commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the business and the safety of customers and employees. This includes undergoing a criminal history review to ensure compliance and maintain a secure environment. Sherwin-Williams values diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities to all candidates without discrimination.

Sherwin-Williams’ mission is to inspire and improve the world by coloring and protecting what matters, and this Store Associate role is vital in translating that mission into everyday experiences with customers. The company offers a flexible and supportive work environment, with rewards, benefits, and opportunities to grow professionally and personally.
